Attention BP Employees,
Capstone Wealth Advisors is pleased to announce the release of our Q3 2020 model allocations for your BP ESP & Hilcorp 401(k). As the effects from COVID-19 continue, so does the heightened volatility in financial markets. The second quarter of 2020 was a drastically different scenario from the first quarter, with equity markets recouping a significant amount of the losses experienced in the first quarter. The US Government has continued to aggressively implement stimulus both directly to the general public and within bond markets, making a positive impact in the financial markets. We anticipate gains to continue albeit at a much lower level than the initial resurgence from the March lows. Volatility will almost undoubtedly continue at least through the upcoming Presidential election in November.
The economic picture in the United States and globally remain uncertain as markets adjust to the ever-changing landscape. The ultimate outcome of the issues plaguing America remains to be seen; however, we do see this situation ultimately getting behind us, in time.
Our BP ESP & Hilcorp 401(k) model portfolios have been adjusted to reflect our belief that an overweighting in US Large Cap Growth will continue to be the best performer, especially on a risk adjusted basis. We have also added a larger component into bonds to help reduce the overall volatility in your portfolio should we experience another pullback.
For current clients, we have already made the changes in your Capstone accounts to reflect our insight looking forward. Please keep in mind that we do not make changes to your BP ESP & Hilcorp 401(k), that is something you will need to do.
